Safe Swimming Regulations Have Not Changed
    BUT
    There are regulations!

    1. The Buddy System must be used at all times.
    2. The Scouter must be aware fo the swimming ability of all participants.
    3. There must be one "Water Activity Supervisor" for every 10 swimmers.
      • The Water Activity Supervisor must be:
        • identified to the swimmers
        • dressed for immediate reaction
      • A Water Activity Supervisior can be an adult or a youth:
        • a youth must have a minimum of a National Life Saving Society Bronze Medallion or a Scouting badge of a similar nature.
        • an adult does not ahve to possess specific qualifications, but should be aware of, and enforce, all water safety regulations.
        • all Water Activity Supervisors are ultimatley responsible to a Scouter.
    4. While swimming at Lake Kennabi:
      • all swimming activities must take place in buoyed areas.
    5. While swimming at other lakes both on and off the Reserve:
      • the above regulations must be adhered to; and the Scouter must:
        • designate the swim area
        • ensure the safety of that area
        • provide some type of rescue or reaching aid
    6. Some Scouters may add, or be required to add, additional safety regulations.
    LET'S HAVE FUN
    and
    LET'S BE SAFE!
