The Haliburton Scout Reserve
is open for camping - week long or weekends - for Scout Troops, Venturer
Companies, Rover Crews, the equivalent Guiding, Boy Scouts of America or
international Scouting units, and groups of Leaders and families of groups
attending.
Family camping can also be accommodated at certain times of the year (see below).
Special arrangements may
be made to accommodate groups other than those mentioned above by contacting
the
Central Ontario Admin Centre.
Kennabi
Lake Camping
Kennabi Lake has sixteen
campsites around its shoreline and seven on islands, which are set up for
Troop-style camping. They may be used by Scout Troops, Venturer Companies,
Rover Crews or their equivalents. All but two of these sites (Twister Point
and Rover's Rest) are accessible only by water. Bookings are normally made
for Saturday afternoon to the following Saturday morning. Check out the
"Availability" page for details of sites and vacancies.
Hurst
Lake Camping
Located in the north/central
area of the Reserve, Hurst Lake is a great site for an experienced Troop
or Company that would prefer a more isolated camping experience yet still
be able to take advantage of program at H.S.R. For more information on
camping at Hurst Lake,

Family and Guest Camping
For families that would like to come
to the Reserve but do not want to join their spouses at their Troop camp there
are nine guest sites where tent, camper or
trailer space is available. The guest and family camping area is located
on the north shore of Kennabi Lake. Drinking water and privies are provided.
Guests are welcome to use the Country Store for their grocery needs. Guest
and family site users must check-in on arrival and check-out for departure
at the Administration Office.
For more details see our
Family
& Guest Camping Page. Sites should be booked in advance through
the Camping Department at the Central
Ontario Admin Centre.
